Third ramp-up in the global production network: Start of production of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class in Finland - Mercedes-Benz Group Media - Start of production of the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class in Finland: Pasi Rannus (l.), Senior Vice President Manufacturing, Valmet Automotive, and the Valmet team in Uusikaupunki. For the start of production of the new A-Class, apprentices from the Mercedes-Benz Rastatt plant in Germany produced a steering wheel model using modern additive production processes. The steering wheel has a screen on which employees can store greetings for the next plant in the ramp-up cascade. The steering wheel is passed on from plant to plant like a baton.
