With Intelligent World Drive, Mercedes-Benz is testing automated driving functions on five continents using a test vehicle based on the S-Class. After Germany and China, the third leg sees the test vehicle confront the special characteristics of Australian traffic on country roads, motorways and in the city of Melbourne. The focus of the test drives is on validation of the digital maps from HERE, recognition of country-specific traffic signs and testing of the innovative DIGITAL LIGHT system.
