  • Stuttgart, Oct 30, 2014 - Crosswind Assist is now also available as a retrofit solution for numerous variants of the Sprinter. The most important prerequisite: the vehicle must be fitted with the current version of Adaptive ESP, available since January 2012. Almost all owners of vehicles built between 2012 and mid-2013 are therefore now able to retrofit this highly effective safety feature to their vehicle. The mid-2013 model change saw Crosswind Assist become part of the standard specification of all the most common Sprinter variants.

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter won the coveted "Delivery Magazine Van of the Year Award". The Mercedes-Benz Viano topped the "Best People Mover of the Year" category once more.

  • Stuttgart/Boxberg, Mar 6, 2013 - At the TecForum 2013, Mercedes-Benz Vans presents a range of new assistance systems, offering an initial glimpse of the safety technology of the near future. The Crosswind Assist system for vans will celebrate its world premiere at the event. The Collision Prevention Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Highbeam Assist will also be available in vans soon, where they will be supplemented by Lane Keeping Assist.
  • Stuttgart/Boxberg, Feb 27, 2013 - With five new assistance and safety systems, Mercedes-Benz Vans is continuing to extend its role as an innovation leader among van manufacturers. The systems include three world premieres for this category of vehicle: Crosswind Assist, Collision Prevention Assist and Blind Spot Assist. They were presented yesterday for the first time by the Stuttgart-based automotive manufacturer as part of a Mercedes-Benz Vans TecForum held at the Boxberg testing ground.

The Mercedes-Benz Citan and Vito models both came out on top in the icy Arctic Van Test in Finland. The Sprinter Arctic Drive in North America posed an even bigger challenge, as it required the Sprinter to perform a long distance drive to Alaska under extreme conditions.

  • Stuttgart, Dec 1, 2011 - The introduction of the extended ESP package for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter from January 2012 will improve brake performance in critical situations and enhance the safety of passengers and other road users. ADAPTIVE ESP 9i replaces the current ADAPTIVE ESP 8.1. This is further proof that safety is one of the fundamental values of the Mercedes-Benz brand.

  • Stuttgart, Mar 23, 2011 - The FleetBoard telematics system is now available as original equipment ex works for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. Previously the telematics system was only available for the Sprinter as a retrofit option. "By simply ordering the FleetBoard system with a new vehicle, fleets can significantly reduce operating and process costs", notes Markus Lipinsky, Director of Daimler FleetBoard GmbH. Real tests conducted in the distribution transportation sector have shown that fuel consumption and CO2 emissions can be reduced by up to 30% by adopting an economical driving style.
  • Stuttgart/Bonn, Dec 22, 2010 - In its biggest order in Germany this year, Mercedes-Benz Vans will deliver a total of 1,300 Mercedes-Benz Sprinters to Deutsche Post DHL. Delivery of the Sprinters to the customer commenced in December 2010, and the last vehicles are scheduled to go into operation in one year’s time. Mercedes-Benz Vans won over the customer by offering the most economical solution and the best technology, putting it far ahead of the competition. The first vehicles were officially handed over today by Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, to Thomas Zuber, Head of the Letter and DHL Parcel Delivery unit at Deutsche Post DHL.
  • Stuttgart, Nov 3, 2010 - Sprinter 316 LGT (Liquefied Gas Technology) models will be coming off the production line from November 2010. Within a very short space of time Mercedes-Benz has thus added a further model variant to its alternative drive system range of highly efficient passenger cars and vans that bear the BlueEFFICIENCY badge.
