Mercedes-Benz and Roger Federer look forward to the global tennis highlight with great anticipation.

Stuttgart/Boston.  The Laver Cup is back. From 24 to 26 September 2021, the global tennis elite will serve at the tournament for the fourth time after 2017, 2018 and 2019. Since the first edition, Mercedes-Benz has provided the vehicle fleet to ensure the mobility of the players, officials and selected guests.

“It’s phenomenal what has happened since the first event in 2017: the team spirit, the fans and above all the great atmosphere make the Laver Cup one of my personal highlights in the tournament calendar,” says Roger Federer. “I am disappointed that I cannot participate this time because of my knee injury. Next year in London I definitely want to be back playing.”

Roger Federer will be eagerly watching the duel between Team Europe and Team World in Boston. At the Laver Cup, both teams compete with six players each. Four matches are played on each of the three tournament days – three singles and one doubles. The winning team scores points for each match: one on Friday, two on Saturday and three on Sunday. A minimum of 13 points is necessary to win the Laver Cup, so the winning team can only be decided on Sunday.

Mercedes-Benz sets a strong impulse in terms of electromobility with the new EQS. As part of a joint action day in Switzerland, Roger Federer put the new all-electric model through its paces. His résumé: “I am blown away. The long range is ideal for me as a tennis pro. And I love the hyperscreen. The high interactivity makes you feel connected to the car – you get a whole different closeness. For me, the EQS represents a new generation of vehicles.”
