For the new performance saloons, all the connectivity and Intelligent Drive functions and options which make the Mercedes-Benz E-Class the most intelligent executive saloon are available. This includes semi-automated driving with the DRIVE PILOT, which can support the driver during disagreeable routine tasks such as driving in heavy traffic.

In addition to the standard Mercedes me connect functions such as eCall, accident recovery, breakdown assistance or after-sales service, Remote Online (standard with COMAND Online) offers numerous convenience features via smartphone, such as tracking to locate the parked vehicle, control of the auxiliary heating, locking and unlocking the vehicle or the retrieval of various items of information, such as mileage, fuel level or range.

New from Mercedes me connect: the Concierge Service. This includes personal service extending beyond the vehicle. The spectrum ranges from weather and stock market information and route recommendations to suggestions and reservations for sporting and cultural activities. Navigation data is transmitted straight to the vehicle. Customers can call up the Concierge Service using the iCall switch in the vehicle or from anywhere via the Mercedes me app. This new premium service is free of charge for the first year.

AMG Track Pace: the vehicle as virtual race engineer

The developers at AMG have devised a particularly appealing feature for motorsport enthusiasts: With AMG Track Pace, drivers can feel like Formula 1 stars Lewis Hamilton or Nico Rosberg, and capture and analyse a range of vehicle data as well as times on the racetrack. AMG Track Pace is an additional function of the COMAND Online infotainment system and is part of the standard equipment for the E 63 S 4MATIC+ (available as an option for the E 63 4MATIC+).

The system measures acceleration such as from 0 to 100 km/h or over a quarter of a mile, as well as lap and sector times. Plenty of vehicle data such as speeds, longitudinal and lateral acceleration, steering angle or deceleration can also be saved. All values are shown on the COMAND display. In the widescreen cockpit, it is also possible to read off the latest times on the instrument cluster. Thanks to the different colours used, fast or slow laps can be spotted out of the corner of the eye without needing to look away from the track.

Based on the data, drivers are able to analyse their driving style with precision and can use the insights gained to improve their lap times. The system already contains legendary racetracks such as the "Nordschleife" at the Nürburgring. Drivers are however able to record and save other tracks themselves.

AMG Track Pace is very easy to access via the COMAND control panel: Under the vehicle menu and in the favourites, the Track Pace sub item can be called up quickly with one click.

Using COMAND Online's integral wifi hotspot, it is also possible to connect an Apple iPhone® to Track Pace. All the iPhone® user has to do is install the Track Pace app. This can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store. Track Pace will then transfer data automatically from the vehicle to the smartphone. In this way, the user is able to share their lap times or sprint over a quarter of a mile via social networks or the AMG Private Lounge. Videos can be recorded using the iPhone® camera or a GoPro camera and shared later with all the relevant data.
