Automotive Interiors Expo 2014, the trade show for vehicle interiors, has chosen Gorden Wagener as the best interior designer of the year. Wagener has been responsible for design at Mercedes-Benz since 2008.
This year marks the third time that the important Automotive Interiors Expo has awarded the coveted title of the world's best interior designer. Having the last say in the selection process was a jury made up of some of the world's leading automotive journalists. The distinguished experts finally voted in favour of Gorden Wagener, Head of Design of Daimler AG. The jury decided that Gorden Wagener has made the most significant contribution to improving interior quality, innovation and the environment over the last twelve months, and as such rated him from both a subjective and aesthetic viewpoint as a leading and highly innovative designer in his sector.
Evidence of the innovative, trend-setting work of the Mercedes-Benz interior design team is seen for example in the S-Class, the GLA-Class, the S-Class Coupé and the new C-Class. With their clear, sensual and at the same time high-quality interiors, they create progressive design highlights which meet with widespread approval among the public.
