Mercedes-Benz at the 2015 Frankfurt International Motor Show: The Mercedes Dream Cars Collection

Sep 15, 2015
Frankfurt.  The "Mercedes Dream Car Collection" at the Frankfurt International Motor Show features no less than three world premieres: "Concept IAA" (Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile), Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupé will be unveiled to the public for the first time in Frankfurt. There will also be a number of motor show premieres. A defining feature of the appearance by Mercedes-Benz, traditionally located in the Festival Hall directly at the main entrance to the exhibition site, is the so-called "Silver Flow" – a dynamically shaped large-scale sculpture consisting of silver slats. Visitors to the motor show will be offered guidance by a specially developed Mercedes-Benz IAA App 2015, which they can load onto their mobile phones free of charge directly in the Festival Hall. Mercedes-Benz will also be presenting all information, images and live acts relating to the Frankfurt International Motor Show via the continuously updated website .
Around 150 employees have been working for a year on planning and realising Mercedes-Benz's appearance covering more than 9000 square metres. 850 tons of steel, over 230 kilometres of cabling and some 4500 lights have been installed in the Festival Hall, for example. In all, Mercedes-Benz is presenting more than 60 vehicles in Frankfurt.
Mercedes-Benz Concept IAA: Digital transformer
The Mercedes-Benz "Concept IAA" (Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile) is two cars in one: an aerodynamics world champion with a Cd value of 0.19 and a four-door coupé embodying irresistible design. The study switches automatically from design mode to aerodynamic mode when the vehicle reaches a speed of 80 km/h, whereby numerous aerodynamics measures alter the shape of the vehicle. Inside, the "Concept IAA" continues the design line of the S-Class and S-Class Coupé, offers new touch-based functions and provides an idea of what the interior of a business saloon might look like in the near future.
Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupé: Seduction of the heart and mind
Athletic and sporty, the vivid, sensual design of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupé cuts a fine figure on the road and embodies modern luxury. At the same time, its interior raises elegance and style to a sporty level. A dynamically configured chassis, with optional air suspension, forms the basis for a high level of suspension comfort, low road roar and tyre vibration, agile handling, and driving pleasure. Lightweight construction to reduce weight and excellent aerodynamics plus high-performance, efficient engines likewise contribute to this. New assistance systems provide safety of the very highest calibre. With its high-class appeal and generous interior, the new C-Class Coupé sets new standards in its segment. It arrives in December 2015.
Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupé: The sportiest C-Class ever
Mercedes-AMG is setting a further landmark in the brand history: the new C 63 Coupé is the next step on the way to yet more technical and visual distinctiveness. The far-reaching technical modifications are evident at first sight: strikingly flared front and rear wheel arches, an increased track width and larger wheels give the Coupé a muscular look while at the same time providing a basis for the highly agile longitudinal and lateral dynamics. The brand's typical "Driving Performance" is taken to new heights also with the C 63 Coupé. The AMG 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine with 350 kW (476 hp) or 375 kW (510 hp) is just as much a completely in-house development from Affalterbach as, for example, the sophisticated AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers, the set-up of the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes, the rear-axle limited-slip differential or the dynamic engine mounts.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet: Open-top luxury
The new Cabriolet is the sixth variant of the current S-Class family and the first open-top luxury four-seater from Mercedes-Benz since 1971. It offers a distinctive, sensual and exclusive design, the cutting-edge technology of the S-Class and a comprehensive warmth and wind protection concept which includes intelligent climate control for convertibles.
Mercedes-AMG S 63 4MATIC Cabriolet: The ultimate dream car
For the first time in the history of the company, Mercedes-AMG has a luxury convertible in its model range. Its 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine offers an output of 430 kW (585 hp) and peak torque of 900 Nm, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The S 63 features AMG Performance 63 4MATIC all-wheel drive with rear-biased torque split as standard.
Mercedes-Benz GLC: Second generation marks a big step forward
The new GLC performs impressively in all operating conditions, with hallmark outstanding safety, state-of-the-art assistance systems and energy efficiency. Fuel consumption has been cut by up to 19 percent compared with the previous model. At the same time, the AIR BODY CONTROL multi-chamber air suspension that is without parallel in this segment, the extended range of DYNAMIC SELECT dynamic transmission modes and the 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive increase not only the ride comfort, but also the vehicle's sporty agility - whatever surface it is driving on.
Mercedes-Benz A-Class: More comfortable than ever, as sporty as ever
The new-generation A-Class from Mercedes-Benz reconciles the conflicting aims of sporty performance and enhanced comfort: With DYNAMIC SELECT, the driver is able to change the best-seller's characteristics in a matter of seconds – at the touch of a button the A-Class drives in a particularly comfortable, sporty or efficient manner. Mercedes-Benz has also increased the range of available engines. The A 160 with 75 kW (102 hp) is the new entry-level model. The new efficiency champion is the 80-kW (109-hp) A 180 d BlueEFFICIENCY Edition with CO2 emissions of 89 g/km. And with its dramatic design in the style of the successful MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 team, the special "Motorsport Edition" model will particularly appeal to racing fans.
Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC: An exceptional talent
With a peak output of 280 kW (381 hp) and maximum torque of 475 Nm, the entry-level model from Mercedes-AMG is the world's most powerful compact sports model. The revised gear ratios, aerodynamic fine-tuning and the new DYNAMIC SELECT driving modes raise overall performance to a higher level, underlining the claim to leadership in this market segment. The first models will be in dealer showrooms at the end of September.
Mercedes-Benz V-Class AMG Line: Sporty design for the van
Individual, emotional and sporty: the V-Class AMG Line emphasizes the unique, progressive design of the MPV from Mercedes-Benz. Also new are additional comfort features for the V-Class – the largest panoramic roof in the mid-size van segment, a large centre console with integrated refrigerated compartment featuring LED-illuminated thermal cup holders and iPad® attachments in the rear.
Mercedes-Benz Accessories: Genuine accessories for the new GLC
Mercedes-Benz will show how its vehicles can be individualised to an exceptionally high standard with products from Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH on a GLC 250 d 4MATIC model being exhibited by the brand at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. And not only the brand-new mid-size SUV will be sporting genuine accessories at its motor show premiere - the S-Class Cabriolet will be similarly adorned. One particular attraction for model-car collectors is the "Mercedes-AMG GT Camouflage Design" – a limited-edition special model only available at the Frankfurt International Motor Show.
Mercedes-Benz Bank with advisors on site
As the provider of the full range of financial services relating to Daimler vehicles, Mercedes-Benz Bank will be represented at the 66th International Motor Show in Frankfurt from 17 to 27 September 2015. Advisors will be on hand in the Festival Hall to provide advice and information about the automotive bank's product portfolio: from leasing and financing through fleet management and insurance to vehicle rental.
