The second edition of the me Convention – a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and South by Southwest® – will be held in Stockholm, Sweden between 4 to 6 September 2018. This year’s event once again promises to be an inspirational event and will feature 100 innovative speakers from over 20 countries worldwide.
The conference will take place on September 5 and 6 in Nacka Strandsmässan in the south of Stockholm, and attendees can expect a festival-like atmosphere: keynote presentations, solo talks, panel discussions, workshops and one-on-one mentor sessions will happen throughout the day, on two Forum stages, the Insight stage, the Cinema stage, the Creators’ Spot and Makers’ Lab. Keeping in the festival spirit, the evening program boasts a SXSW-curated film program as well as concerts and parties in stunning venues such as Fotografiska Museet and Södra Teatern.
The conference program will again feature the successful ‘ Startup Cities’ track, where representatives from 20 cities will explain why their home town is a great place for startups and entrepreneurs. Speakers from Antwerp, São Paulo, Sofia, Aarhus, Monterrey, Vienna, Almaty, Eindhoven, Belfast, Dubai, Hamburg, Moscow, Porto, Cape Town, Trento and Montreal are already confirmed.
Cooperation with STHLM TECH FEST for Tech and Startup tour on September 4
In addition to the two conference days on September 5 and 6, the me Convention has joined forces with STHLM TECH FEST, Sweden’s largest annual startup festival, to host the “STHLM TECH x me Convention Tech Safari” during the Exploration Day on September 4. me Convention delegates will have the opportunity to discover Stockholm through guided tours, each covering a different aspect of the city. The Safari will visit more than 30 selected startups and hot spots in Stockholm. Two further tours are dedicated to discovering Stockholm’s art and architecture, and the downtown cafés, bars and restaurants.
smart Startup Slam on September 5
Over the past two years, the smart urban pioneers program has offered smart support to startups that have innovative visions for urban locations. On September 5, seven international startups will face off at the Startup Slam in the Mercedes pop-up store. Rules: Each startup will introduce another startup without seeing the content of the presentation in advance. The winners will receive a ticket to SXSW 2019.

Born in SE Washington, DC to a homeless single mother, she has seen the world through many lenses. These experiences have given her insights that she now uses to promote technology that levels playing fields and helps us see people better.
Stephanie Lampkin will give a solo talk titled: “How Technology Can Help Us Be Less Human – and Why That’s a Good Thing When It Comes to Detecting and Eliminating Unconscious Bias.”

On a mission to get the tools of yoga into schools and homes, Adriene hosts the YouTube channel Yoga With Adriene (YWA), an online community of 3.5 million subscribers. YWA was recognized by Google as the most searched workout of 2015. Adriene Mishler hosts classes and workshops in yoga, meditation and self care in the modern world all across the globe. With a professional theatre background, Adriene Mishler works in television, voiceover, film and dance and is a regular contributor for magazines and blogs.
Adriene Mishler will hold two yoga sessions during the me Convention, and will speak on the topic of “Giving to Receive: Building Community & Meaning”.
Tech magician, Social Engineer and Hacker, London/Great Britain.
A hooded coder by day and thrilling stage performer by night, Tom simultaneously resides in two conflicting worlds. At15 Tom hacked into his school’s computer network and helped investigating the download of illegal and damaging content into the school’s computers.
This was rewarded with a bursary and administrative right to the school computers, which was the beginning of Tom’s love affair with coding. At the same time Tim London is the youngest magician ever to be initiated into the magic circle and thrills millions of people worldwide with his magic performances.
Tom London will combine a solo talk and magic performance at the convention, and will take part in an interview on “Ethical Hacking & Engineering Social Responsibility”.

The first me Convention, organised by Mercedes-Benz and South by Southwest (SXSW) in September 2017, was full of inspiration, innovation and new ideas, with 150 speakers delivering a great deal of future-focused food for thought to more than 2,700 attendees from over 35 countries during the three-day event. In March of this year, the car manufacturer and Texan festival for creative, digital and technology industries worked together to bring the spirit of the me Convention to SXSW in Austin, Texas.
